The group (sruu to its friends) is robomoderated, a technique that passes all submissions through a validation program before sending them out to the world, to enforce as necessary the rules that the group runs under. A board of five volunteer moderators help maintain the group and encourage a level of respect and civility appropriate to a church-related group. There's more detail on the moderation policy in the FAQ.
Before posting anything, please read the group for a little while so you understand the tone and topics of the group, and read the FAQ.
Once you've done that, to post a message, mail it to uu@iecc.com or use your news program's posting feature which should mail it for you. The first time you post a message, you should receive a confirmation message asking if it was you, to which you must respond. After that, messages are posted as received. The robomoderator always sends a short acknowledgement each time it receives and posts something.
If you don't get the confirmation message, most likely either your news program isn't mailing messages correctly, or the From: line in your message is set wrong and doesn't have your correct mail address. The easiest solution to both is usually to mail messages yourself rather than using the posting feature of your news program.
To subscribe, send subscribe sruu-policy to majordomo@iecc.com and respond to the confirmation message it sends. If you want messages in a daily digest rather than one at a time, send subscribe sruu-policy-digest instead. You have to subscribe to either the list or the digest before you can send messages. The list address to which you send messages once you've subscribed is sruu-policy@iecc.com.

Dozens of U-U churches have home-pages on the Web. Two home pages that happen to be located on the same computer as this page are First Parish (Lexington, Mass.) and First Unitarian Church of Ithaca, N.Y..
